Welcome to the Nora Elementary School Website. We have
designed this site to be user friendly. It will allow you to easily access information concerning
Nora.
A Kindergarten to Grade 5 building, we are proud to be an International Baccalaureate Primary
Years Program School. You will quickly discover that Nora Elementary is a student centered
learning community committed to developing students that are proficient readers, conceptually
understand math, and are global thinkers. We look forward to working with each of you to
maintain an optimal level of excellence.
If you are a parent of Nora Elementary, you can use the web site to find out useful information. I
would encourage you to always check the calendar for upcoming events and to enjoy our
monthly school newsletter, THE NORA NOTATIONS, as well as other communication and
informational pieces and links that we include.
“It Takes A Whole Village To Raise A Child” and your role is a critical one. There are countless
ways to be involved at Nora. You are encouraged to attend our events throughout the school year
which will include special activities that support learning, fun for kids and the whole family, and
networking with staff and other families. You are also invited to volunteer. Your efforts are
appreciated in the classrooms and for special events and activities. Please visit our P.T.O. section
to view details and/or look for materials that will be sent home with your child(ren). Our goal is
to collaborate with each of you in assisting our children to reach their maximum potential. If you
should happen to visit us, you will quickly discover why we are known in the community as an
“invitational” school. Everyone who enters our doors is a welcome member of our family and
treated with the utmost respect. We value your interest and encourage every parent to get
involved in his or her child’s learning.
Finally, our staff is a dedicated group of professionals and leaders. A commitment to Lifelong
Learning has assisted our staff in remaining as dynamic as the needs of our students. Everyone at
Nora is committed to making Nora Elementary a school where each and every child can
