Greetings from the Nora P.T.A…….
Welcome to a NEW School Year and the Nora PTA. We are looking forward to a great
year and the opportunity to work with each of you as we aim to continually support the students and staff of Nora Elementary!
The mission of the PTA is to promote child welfare in the school, the home, and the community. The Nora PTA happily sponsors several events throughout the school year which allow our children to have fun while learning, as well as providing a way to connect with the community.
Fundraising is how we are able to fund events and programs. This year we will have several fundraisers for you and your family to participate in. Throughout the school year we will be collecting Box Tops For Education, which brought in over $1100 last year. We will be adding Spirit Sticks this year! Students will be able to purchase Spirit Sticks during the last Friday of each month during their lunch period. Spirit sticks are $1 each. In the fall, we will have our annual cookie dough fundraiser. Last year we made approximately $4400! Other fundraising opportunities include the two Book Fairs, Penny Wars, Norathon, and Pacers game.
Simply having a student enrolled at Nora makes you a member of the PTA and there are many different ways to get involved. You can choose to assist in your child’s classroom, chaperone a field trip, assist his/her teacher with copies or cutting things out for the class, help with fundraising, collect Box Tops, attend and participate in one of our many school activities. Getting involved with the PTA is a great way to get to know the teachers, staff, and students of Nora Elementary School, while experiencing the daily routines of our school, first hand.
